Alvaro Pascual joined Baño León as Of Counsel in 2014, following more than thirteen years of experience in law firms in Madrid and Brussels, and became a partner in 2019. He specialises in Competition and Commercial Distribution Law, Regulatory Law, and Customs Law. Alvaro has represented both national and international clients across various sectors before administrative bodies and national and EU courts in cases involving cartels, leniency applications, abuse of dominant position, state aid, and merger control. He has also advised on competition restrictions in commercial contracts in both physical and online environments, regulatory issues in the electricity, natural gas, and transport sectors (such as access disputes, activity separation, and authorization
procedures), as well as complex customs law matters (including tariff classification, origin, and goods valuation). Alvaro Pascual holds a Master’s degree in EU Law from Universidad Carlos III and a law degree from Universidad Complutense. Since 2008, he has been recognized as a recommended lawyer in Competition Law in Spain by the prestigious legal directory Chambers Europe.

Alvaro Pascual has participated as speaker in many courses and conferences at various institutions (Carlos III University, Francisco de Vitoria University, ICADE, Spanish Antitrust Association, Madrid Bar Association, Spanish Energy Club, etc.). He has also written many articles on competition law in different Spanish and international publications. Currently, he is the President of the Antitrust Section of the Madrid Bar Association.
